I doubt he's crying. I can't help but feel protective of Kirk too. Of course Kirk is just one generation removed from his European roots. The men in his family probably kissed each other on the lips as a greeting. I know my family on my dad's side were lip kissers. Shows just how tough they were. To be lip kissers in Texas, you had better be ready to kick a boot off in someone's ass. The man kissing tradition that did not survive them. My bother and I give hugs, but no lip service. That is where the whisker gag in Big Baby Scam came from. Remember when Mr.Pipe grinds down Ren's face with his huge sharpened stubble? Well that was my life as a child. Getting kissed by everybody in the room whether they had shaved recently or not. John said he had similar gouging memories of his childhood.
