Thanks Guys. As to SpongeBob suffering, no never. That stems from sitting in a meeting trying to come up with funny show ideas, which lead to externalizing a little internal frustration through drawing SpongeBob.
Self Censorship! Since I do work on the show, and since it is a kid show, I am careful to not show the little guy doing anything that might upset his childlike image. The other things that were blocked out were actual show ideas for the future. You wouldn't want to spoil the surprise do you?

I read an interview with Dan Povenmire in which he said you guys drew the characters in every sexual position around the studio, and subsequently took the drawings down when kids came in for a tour.
