My name is Rob Trucks and I'm an Alabama-born, New York-based writer currently at work on an oral history of 49 year olds, and so I am writing to request an interview prior to your 50th birthday.
For this project I have already interviewed Grammy winners (Branford Marsalis and the Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne), Olympic medalists (Judi Brown Clarke), Pro Bowlers (Karl Mecklenburg and Brad Edelman), Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award winners (editorial cartoonist Jack Ohman), Hugo Award winners (Bob Eggleton), National Book Award winners (Kimberly Willis Holt), pioneers in new media (Douglas Gayeton), race relations (Sam Richards), meteorology (Joshua Wurman) and genetic research (Jeffery W. Kelly), as well as my date for the 1978 high school prom.
I'm the author of six published books, including a forthcoming work on Fleetwood Mac's Tusk, and I'm enclosing a link to some relatively recent writing for the Village Voice: http://www.villagevoice.com/content/result/author:381254/.
