Happy Halloween

Inspired by Eddie Fitzgerald's lovely post celebrating today. This popped out over breakfast.

A reminder as to why one should never! Ever! put drinks down on a working desk.

Ouch! Diego you scare me. kidding

Thanks Michael- unfortunately the problem with whipping something out in a few minutes, is that it leads to me forgetting little things like, the apron (habit) thingie the she devil is wearing should wrap around the shoulder that is closest to camera. But i have it disappearing behind her shoulder. Oh well that'll teach me to at least pencil the shapes in before I ink. This brush pen is still sooo much fun.

Thanks Ryan I hope that means you liked it.

Marc I hope your breakfast was as tasty as mine. I've been trying to budget a bit of late and been making my own eats.
Today was the mother and Child Reunion with a little chedder sprinkled on top.

Oh and I would suggest no one should click on this one to make it bigger, because it doesn't look nearly as good big as it does small.

Hey, you all. I'll take one of them peanut butter cups. Last time I saw you was before the Burning Man. Anybody get burned up real good? No war movie is complete without a guy on fire. Nice drawing that was spilled on. Sometimes the spill adds a certain surreal quality. How do I get one of those melting letters comment approvals?

Wow! very evil! I also sort of like the smeared water soaked ape. Maybe drip some coffee on the left side of it too..

now it looks like the gorilla's been shot.... just like my dad used to say; "the only good gorilla is a dead gorilla"

Phil is your dad in the Congo right now? A bunch of Gorillas went dead a couple of months ago.
When I was a kid and heard news reports like "The San Tiago Gorillas are attacking the capital city of where ever" I thought it was real gorillas going bat shit and attacking humans. Scared the crap out of my ignorant little ass.

I do agree with Jim and Ryan that there is something interesting about the spill, but I don't think it would translate on a t-shirt.

Jim, The "Man" did indeed get burned twice. I missed the first unscheduled burn because I was gawking at the full lunar eclipse that night.
I posted pictures of the second burn.

The gorilla looks pretty awesome with the beverage added.

Jim sorry, I thought I had already approved that comment. The Burning Man on the above post was inspired by your comment."No war movie is complete without a guy on fire."

Sorry my comments were repeated. I didn't think they were getting through so I did them over. Now I understand.

wow. great drawing. sad to see that awesome gorilla gunfire drawing watered down. i have 2 drinnks on my desk right now. one is an empty cup and the other has a lid on it... still kind of dangerous though.

I love the spill, it keeps the focus on the main action of the gorilla creating a more clear focal point (the gunfire and the face). Keep it, call it a happy accident if you will. ;) P.S. say hello to Chad Coyle for me.

I'd like to see what you can achieve by intentionally adding water to your brush pen drawings. Looks like you could get some pretty great tones with it.

I think you should be drawing your own comic book. I's obvious you have the skills for it, plus I'd like to see more of that gorilla with the gun. You're an inspiration to us all.

oh my god.thats a gruesome cartoon, what were you having for breakfast? A demon-nun sure is a funny idea though.

Vincent Waller said...

I believe it was sausage and eggs.

Mr.W I do have plans for our Gorilla pal. Now the question is, will I find time to bring it to fruition?
