More Brush Pen

I was reading an August Newsweek about the slaughter of Mountain Gorillas, and this jumped out.
I also learned that brush pen takes a while to dry. Smudgey eraserness.

Hey Shaun,
Here are the stats and what it looks like.
Staedler Mars GRAPHIC 3000 Duo

Check out:
Alex Toth
Wally Wood
Bob Camp
Stephen Destefano
Jordi Bernet
You probably already know this list and there are tons of others.
All Amazing inkers
Study their drawing as much as you check out their inks.

This is one mountain gorilla who's just not gonna take it anymore.

Love the hat and coat.

Thanks Marc, there's nothing like a dapper ape.
Give'em time and they'll all be sporting heat too. I hear tale that female chimps have started making spears!

Do you draw in pencil first?
And is this soluble ink?
And what exactly is a brush pen?
I'm trying to get into the ink thing but it's hard to find information about.
These are great by the way!

Hi Shaun,
Thanks.
The post it brush pen drwings on the previous post were free hand, but the ape on this post, I roughed in with pencil before inking it.
I think its soluble but I haven't tested it.
I'll post a picture of the brush pen and it's make tomorrow.

Yeah, gnarly! We need Waller comics!

Are these new explorations in anticipation for some upcoming works or just for creative meandering?

Loving the hands and the fur (especially on the chin)

I hope that's true.

thanks alot man.
that thing looks very alien to me, looks like a marker, but it's a brush, but it has ink. I don't think I've ever seen one around before. I'll have to look for one though, it has a great effect.
